My name is Charis Slade, the creator of Name Art... an idea that was born in November 2008. I have always loved creativity and design and when I stopped teaching in 2004 (to have our 2 little boys!), I finally had the chance to experiment with the ideas that had previously been buzzing around in my head! Surrounded by friends having babies or children with birthdays, I started trialling a few of my personalised designs to give as gifts. I started with designs on canvas and each one that hung on a wall seemed to bring in more requests! And so it grew... In February 2009 I started to design images that worked for kitchens & bathrooms so that adults could treat themselves as well as their children. These designs prompted a number of cafes, pubs and restaurants to ask for bespoke artwork for their walls. I have now increased my product range so that there is something for everyone...with many more ideas in the pipeline! All the time, I am looking for design ideas that not only look good, but that also ooze with style and practicality. The giant placemats & aprons with mitts are perfect examples of this. Despite ever increasing busyness (which is a good thing!), it is still my priority to communicate with customers, so that what I create for you is exactly what you want...whether it's a gift for someone else or just a little treat for you.
